Did you guys see the eclipse last night? Or atleast the huge moon this morning? These events are decades in the making, and the two occurrences coinciding is pretty rare.
The reason the moon is so big is because of the changing lunar orbit. Every once in a while the moon’s orbit comes super close to earth, and the moon appears to grow 14% bigger.
The rare thing is how the changing orbit happens to align with the earth and the sun, causing Earth’s shadow to cover the moon, causing a huge red moon in the sky.
